CELEBRATION OF JESSE’S LIFE: 2 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2014 at the Pulliam Funeral Home in Oblong with Bro. Jeff Brinkman officiating.  Burial will be in the Jones Cemetery, Flat Rock, IL.  Military rites will be conducted by the Oblong American Legion Post #219 at the cemetery.

Jesse F. Jones 64, Casey, Illinois, formerly of Hardinville and Oblong passed away at his residence on Monday June 2, 2014.

Born on July 14, 1949 in Palestine, IL., he was the son of Denzil Delbert Jones and Nellie “Pauline” Richart Jones.  On September 2, 1978 he married Edna Elizabeth Ballew and she preceded him in death on April 17, 1995.

Jesse was a member of the Hardinville Christian Church; a graduate of the Oblong High School class of 1967; Jesse served in the United States Navy in the Seabees; a member of the David B. Reavill Post #132 American Legion, Flat Rock, IL.; and was employed as a roughneck oil field worker for Marathon Oil Rig #6 at Bridgeport, IL. for 20 years.  He enjoyed fishing, frying fish, hunting and shooting his guns and especially the time he spent with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his two daughters, Le ann Jones of Casey, IL.; and Christina Plummer of Bridgeport, IL.; four grandchildren: Brock Jesse Jones, Casey, Il.; Damien Plummer, Bridgeport, IL.; Kasey Elizabeth Plummer, Bridgeport, IL.; and Lilly Faye Levandoske, Casey, IL.; four brothers and sisters-in-law Eugene D. and Peggy Jones, Hardinville, IL.; Carl A. and Sue Jones, Stoy, IL.; Larry W. and Carolyn Jones of Lake Station, IN.; and Stephen P. and Marcia Jones of Waterloo, IL.; along with several nieces, nephews and three aunts.

Jesse was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Edna Jones.
